ProjectsGino Guitars store
Gino strumenti musicali was established as a music store in 1967 and sprung from a fierce passion for music - that of Gino Della Porta who not only founded the company but also happened to be a professional jazz guitarist. After ten years spent travelling across Italy and Europe and working with the likes of Nicola Arigliano, Tony Renis, Quartetto Cetra and Nilla Pizzi... Gino decided to change course and harness his passion for music, using it to sell music instruments instead of playing professionally. Since it opened in 1967, his shop has gradually evolved, specialising heavily in guitars over the years. Today it is one of the best known and authoritative centres nationwide.
40 years of experience in the music sector is a virtue that few musical-instrument stores can boast. Decades of experience are underpinned by 4 key factors: quality, competitiveness, professionalism and competence.Gino strumenti musicali is a lodestar in Italy and a first port of call for guitarists and bass players everywhere. Over the last few years, it has been honoured with accolades such as the prestigious Epiphone Dealer Award and it also features one of the biggest Gibson displays in Europe.
Castaldi's services were called upon to install the lighting in the new Milan store. Close attention was paid to the way the guitar display was lighted. The musical instruments had to be showcased but care had to be taken not to create unpleasant surface reflections or any distracting glare. The Wall-Washer optics of Sled Square meant that all the guitars viewable on the walls were evenly lit and the rich tones of the musical instruments were elegantly enhanced.
The end result is absolutely stunning. The guitars take centrestage within the store and it becomes impossible for eyes (and ears) not to notice their intrinsic beauty.
